Traditional
methods of freeing presses included disassembling
the press, cutting the parallels, or heating the tie
rods - all of which could cause damage to the press.
Press freeing with liquid nitrogen is faster and more
safe.
Liquid nitrogen is applied to the pressure points
of the seized press. These cooled pressure points
contract and relieve the pressure thereby freeing
the press with no mettalurgic change.
Once the press is released and back to room temperature,
the press will function normally and no further adjustments
will be needed.
