In order to fit slightly oversized metal items into mating parts N-TWO technicians travel to your site and apply shrink fitting techniques to the affected parts.

ADVANGTAGES

•  Increased Shrinkage: 0.002” per 1” on steel / 0.0035” per 1” on bronze
•  Faster and more effective than dry ice
•  Low cost; Less effort
•  No need for customary heat and force fitting

APPLICATIONS

•  Insert metal shafts into metal wheels and hubs
•  Press fit steel or brass rings around shafts
•  Fit guide pins into die shoe
•  Insert brass bushings into hub
•  Free metal stamping press
•  Disassemble metal parts with less force:
ex. separate bullgear from shaft; remove shaft from impeller; remove large bushing from hub

Shrink fitting using liquid nitrogen allows contraction of metal items without mettalurgic change.

1. When parts are oversize and need to fit.

2. Liquid Nitrogen is fed into a containment unit that isolates the area to be fitted.

3. The shrinking permits fitting of slightly oversized metal items into mating parts.
